ACLS Course Description

Los Angeles Career College offers American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification course. ACLS is created for healthcare professionals, who participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest. ACLS video-based, instructor-led, advanced course, which builds on the foundation of basic life support (BLS) skills the occupations needing the course include but is not limited to personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. This class is for healthcare providers, taking ACLS courses for the first time. ACLS course reflects all the American Heart Association Guidelines. The certification course is a 100% classroom based course and takes 12 hours to complete and all the participants will be required to sit through the course. Upon completion of the course students will receive an AHA ACLS Certification Card.
Through instruction and active participation in case-based scenarios, learners will enhance their skills in the differential diagnosis and treatment of pre-arrest, arrest and post arrest patients. The specific and helpful information introduces professionals to utilization and delivery of the Heart and Stroke Foundation ACLS Provider Course. The course highlights the importance of high-performance team work, communication, as well as, systems of care during post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.

ACLS Course Content

Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED

Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest

Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia

Airway management

Los Angeles Career College is offering American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Recertification course for healthcare professionals. The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s ACLS course is designed for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, and paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for job or other requirements. All students who successfully complete the course will receive a certification card, which is valid for 2 years. It emphasizes the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR and takes healthcare provider training to the next level – highlighting the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes. AHA ACLS Recertification is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.

ACLS Online Course

The ACLS Online course is recommended for MDs, RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Dentists, and Medical Personnel with Busy Schedules. The ACLS Online Class utilizes simulation technology and scenario-based learning that is self-directed on your computer at home. The course covers all of the same material as the traditional classroom based ACLS class. This program also includes the complete ACLS textbook online so there is no need to purchase the book separately.

Certification cards will be provided at the end of class, upon successful completion of course requirements.

Please Note for On-Campus Classes: The American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Book is required for this class. Bring your book to your on-campus class or you will be required to purchase a book prior to the start of class. If you need to order a book in advance please allow one week for shipping and provide that information under the comment section when scheduling the class. Books can be purchased online at the time of registration.

Please Note for Online Classes: By taking the Online ACLS accredited class, you will receive the same class completion card as you would taking the traditional class.

ACLS Online includes and is based on the information covered in the traditional in-class ACLS Course. The course also includes ACLS Textbook online, so there is no need to purchase a textbook separately.
